I found this photo from our trip to Portland. It was the year we drove to Bayfield, picked up Viola, and then drove to MSP Airport to fly out to visit Betty Ann. On arrival in Portland we rented a car which Dad drove. We had gales of laughter as we tried to direct Dad around sightseeing...Betty Ann doesn't drive and had a hard time directing...Viola hadn't been out there in about 30 years or so and only remembered how it used to be...and Mary Catherine hadn't a clue, as usual!?! Poor Dad just kept driving while we giggled and laughed ourselves silly.
The picture is from the day we drove up to Mt. Hood. The Lodge was beautiful as you can see in the background. I think Dad was feeling pretty good about himself that he could endure "the sisters" and their cackling and their absurd 3-way directions because we never, at least hardly ever, all suggested the same road or route. It was a testament to Dad's driving ability that we survived and even made it where we wanted to go.
We had so much fun on that trip!

Third try!!!
I just want to say that it is wonderful to be able to look back and enjoy the time you all spent together that trip. The memories are best shared and appreciated.
Since I first read this blog post on November 15, it was extra special for me.
